With a stay at Hotel Trianon Rive Gauche, you'll be centrally located in Paris, within a 10-minute walk of Luxembourg Gardens and Panthéon. We put up with it as we didn't spend much time in our room. I don't think we would stay here again, due to all the things mentioned above. We were located next to the lift and heard a constant tap tap noise eveytime the lift was used. The bed was ok, but the room above us had a very squeeky bed (say no more!) and you could hear the people in the room next to us talking. The shower wasn't great, sometimes cold, sometimes hot and temperature changed during the shower so you had to get out and wait for it to get to the right temperature again. The tissue holder was loose and fell off the wall numerous times.

We had to buy our own milk and tea bags so we could have a decent cup of tea! The bathroom was small and dated, nowhere to put any toiletries and the extractor fan didn't work. There was a kettle and coffee and not very nice tea bags, but no milk.

Our room was tiny (which we expected), but the decor was very dark which made it feel quite claustrophobic. I would say that this is a 3 star hotel and definitely not a 4 star. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and our room was serviced every day. Hotel was in a great location, close to lots of restaurants, Luxembourg Gardens and a number of metro stations.

We loved the hotel and would definitely stay here again. If you try and speak the language, Parisiens are happy to help.

Traffic is everywhere and fast, so whether you are walking, on a scooter, bike, motorbike or car, it’s a free for all, no rules but weirdly everyone is respectful of one another. The Moulin Rouge was a great, fun evening. Amazing views of all the major landmarks. The Seine cruises are hop on and off and well worth the 16 euros for 24 hours. We sat and had coffee and just people watched and listened the Sunday orchestra at the bandstand.

Breakfast was delicious, room service quick, coffee and tea great. But it did the trick!!! The elevator is a triangle with room for maybe 2 people and a suitcase, max weight 225lbs, so enjoy the single rides or getting a great workout climbing 6 flights of stairs. If you want a 1600 super strong hairdryer, bring your own, because this is a mild, hose style dryer. Yes, rooms are not big American square boring rooms - they are 13th century sizes, but are you staying in your hotel room or exploring the city? Bed was super comfy, bathroom well equipped and modern. It’s a quirky, French building, with magnifent views of the Eiffel Tower (we stayed in room 654). The hotel is very convenient to the bus and Metro, bakeries, cafes and shops. Yes, rooms are not big American square boring rooms - they are 13th century sizes, but are you staying in your hotel r.
